Sugar Detectives

We are learning about teeth and sugar. I was learning about three different drinks and finding out how much sugar was in them. The most sugary drink was the vimto. The healthiest drink was the water beacause it doesn't have any sugar. The vimto had 45g of sugar which is bad for your teeth!

Looking after your teeth

We are learning about sugar and teeth. I wanted to investigate whether milk  is healthier than water.  I found out that water is healthier than milk because water contains 0g of sugar and milk contains 17.8g of sugar. This tells me that water is the best drink for my teeth.

Problem solving - deep in thought

Maths week

I have enjoyed maths week because it helps me with my times tables and it is really fun.

Have you seen our new problem solving corner?

It's where we go to ponder life's issues, only joking... But we do solve some pretty tricky maths problems here.

Using the grid method of multiplication

We learnt about the grid method and even had a go at the extra spicy questions.

Clues in a bucket

In every bucket we had some cards that had a problem and we had to solve it by calculating it. Then when we thought we had got the answer we would look for the answer. The answer was on the top right corner of the next problem card.

Code breaking using the 8 times table

We have created a code using the 8 times table and our knowledge of decimals.
Can you work out our secret message?

Year 4 decimal point work

We have been learning about are six times table in decimal points by pretending we are spies .

I have especially because of using times table talking in our work and activities💁🏼

Solving multiplication and division problems

We have been doing our problem solving outside today. We had to use our mental and written methods of multiplication and division to find the next clues.

Super Students

I'm very impressed with these two super students, who I worked with this morning during mentor time. They brought some fantastic Roman weapons and showed me some amazing stories. They also learned (very quickly!) how to create folders on our school server, save their work, and reopen it in a different place. Impressive!

Come and find them in school if you'd like to know more about their Roman topic, their story writing, or their incredible ICT skills.
